The Filipinos
The Filipino population is estimated to be 80.2 million. The official language is Tagalog; however, English is the medium of instruction in schools, and is spoken and understood almost everywhere.
The Philippines is the only Christian country in the Far East; about 90% of Filipinos are Christians and 10% are Muslims, living mainly on the island of Mindanao.
Filipinos are a jovial, fun-loving, and friendly race. Family ties are strong, and hospitality comes naturally to them.
Especially in the provinces, they are always willing to lend a helping hand, so don't be afraid to ask.
